On the fast track? New FOIA details Planning Dept doings back in Dec. 😳

Documents show a draft of a Property Owner Authorization Letter sent to SI Resorts 4 days before the Community Meeting announcement on 12/18/23 and a Project Schedule sent 3 days afterwards on 12/21/23…

On 12/14/23, the lead architect of the Sports-Themed Resort and Condo Complex emailed:

Hi Milton,

Hope this email finds you well. I spoke with Odis and he asked that I just email you directly for our ask: Our first step to kick off entitlements process is to

“Secure Property Owner Authorization Letter from City Administrator for all development applications”

Is this something you can provide to us prior to Jan 10, 2024? We are intending to submit our DRB application on

Stream on 1/10 to get on the Feb DRB agenda. @Lenart, Brett is there a specific form / letter that Milton should use?

Thank you,

Lina

**Jan 10, 2024 DRB (Design Review Board) meeting from above email was canceled.

In less than 2 hours, Brett Lenart - City of Ann Arbor Planning Department Manager, replied with the following:

I’m attaching draft language if that helps.

The “Community Meeting” was then announced by City Administrator Milton Dohoney Jr., at the start of the 12/18/23 Council Meeting for “Mid-January”…

The next day on 12/19/23, another one of SI Resorts consultants sent the following email:

Brett,

Circling back on our meeting from earlier this month and your offer to update the City Entitlement schedule. I don’t think that our team has seen that back from you yet. Also, Chris is meeting with Milton to talk through schedule so it would be timely to have that ready by then. I have CCd Chris Schroeder who is attending the meeting Thursday.

Thank you,
Scott

Two days later on 12/21/23, Brett Lenart than replied with the following project schedule attached:

You can have the stream account. It is often created by the architect or engineer. I’ve attached an updated calendar for submission dates. Milton’s approval letter will be uploaded as an attachment in STREAM. We can help attach too if you run into any quirks.
